The Goose is an Avondale staple. I love to lunch here, they have a great Caesar Salad. This Friday, I went for the first time on a late-night excursion. The bartenders are the type to just hang out with you, which I love. They indulged me in making my hyper-specific favorite shot which involves pickle juice and hot sauce. Everyone is very kind, sports always on the TVs, neighborhood spot. It has a "locals only" vibe, even though this is Birmingham, not Aspen.

Fun little place with some really good snacks. Look, this is not a white tablecloth experience, but if you just want some good food c'mon in! This last trip was my third, and I will say you must try the fried pickles. I was skeptical because I am a huge fried pickle fan, but it has to be chips. So when I saw the pickles were more like fries I was not expecting to like them as much as I do! Right up there with the best "chips" in the game! From there do any form of the fried chicken, the grilled chicken on the nachos, and the wings. But if you go wings don't ask for blue cheese. Only negative I have found is the blue cheese tastes just like Kr@$t out of a bottle, and if you know what I am talking about we can be friends! I am a blue cheese dressing snob!

Late night food stop for a group of friends after we left a game. It was a beautiful night so we ate outside. It was a group of 6 and the service was fast and efficient. I had their nachos and I loved them. Portion size was more than enough for one person alone or to share. Burgers were ordered by others and from the looks of it they were delicious as well. We had no complaints with our experience. They also have outside games and ample sitting for large or small groups.

First time being here since it changed to The Goose. My burger was pretty good. My wife said her pork needed to be seasoned, but her sandwich was decent. We loved the shoestring fries. I didn't have an alcoholic drink this time but the atmosphere was pretty nice as well. Everyone working there was pretty nice and our food came out hot and quickly, fast service!

I went here with a friend and we decided to eat light because we were going to Mom's Basement afterwards. I had the loaded tater tots and my friend had sautéed cauliflower. I wasn't expecting the inside of this place to be a sports bar so I was surprised to see that. It is tight inside and the long bar took up most of the restaurant. There are some serious rockstar and bad@!! bartenders that work that are friendly and good at what they do. The outside patio area was my favorite part at the restaurant and if there's good weather I recommend sitting outside. We didn't sense any lack of customer service being outside at all.

DUCK DUCK GOOSE! The Goose Birmingham has now taken the old spot where Fancies uses to be. For what ever reason, this specific location has not done well with the majority of other restaurants. But we will just have to see if The Goose changes that pattern. An American bar and restaurant, is the summed up description of this restaurant. The menu is decent in size. Though it follows the same generic setup as the previous restaurant. You walk up to the bar and order your food and drink and take a seat. Came here early evening on a Saturday night with a friend. We decided on getting light appetizers as we were heading to Mom's Basement later. I want to give a shoutout to Blake she was an amazing waitress. Came outside and popped a seat with us as if we had known her for years. I really liked how we felt as though we were part of a family when coming here. If you are not familiar with Alabama, one thing Alabamians love more than anything in the world is football. Since the Goose very much gives off sports bar vibes, the inside was packed like sardines, but the outside patio was very nice. Much quieter still had a tv on with the game playing. For food my friend got the loaded tater tots and I got the goose heads. Yes, you read that right, GOOSE HEADS. Sautéed cauliflower florets in a lemon and garlic sauce. Two dipping sauces came on the side. Who said bar food had to be fattening and greasy? I really enjoyed my time at the Goose. I just hope that it makes it in the location. The people are very warm and welcoming, treating their customers like family. I will just have to come back and explore more of the menu when I can sit inside and not be jammed in like a sardine.

This restaurant has been only open a few months and is awesome. It is a fun spot with a very nice patio with shade. It sits on artificial grass and has games out there like corn hole, and big connect four. Some of the tables has umbrellas and there is also fans out there. They have a few parking spots along the perimeter of the patio. There is also free street parking within a reasonable walking distance. That is where I ended up parking. In addition to the patio, they have a small bar that has seating and full service. There is also a small indoor dining area. Bot spots have televisions, The bar may be small, but has 4 televisions covering its center wall. There was no indoor seating available so, we decided to sit on the patio. At first there was only a table in the hot sun. However, Heath, the owner was out there working hard and pulled our table over to the shade and under some fans. The staff there is amazing. They were helpful, courteous, friendly and attentive. Top notch. They do not have signature cocktails, but they do have a full bar with beer and wine. The menu has burger sandwiches, wings. and salads. Most of them have fun names and you will find some exotic items on there. I ordered the Steak Philly (Silly Philly) with fries. The Goose Neck also looked good. It took about 10 to 15 minutes for us to get our food, which was pretty good considering how packed their were. My food was delicious. If I had one suggestion, It would be to put a little more meat on the sandwich. It was still filling and very flavorful. I left there full. I would recommend trying the Philly. The fries were good too, but it is hard to mess those up, but I have seen it done though. The other person with me loved their food too and was highly impressed by the service. Heath runs a great operation here. I throughly enjoyed my dinner here. They are very welcoming here and have some awesome food and an amazing staff. I highly recommend checking this place out and hope that I am able to make it back here soon.
